Sad Brad Smith - Help Yourself
I am so god damned happy right now. Finally, fucking finally, a song that I’ve been waiting FOREVER to come out is out. It’s called “Help Yourself” by Sad Brad Smith and it’s an original song for the film “Up in the Air” (a George Clooney vehicle with an all-star cast which is the favorite to win an Oscar for Best Picture this year). This song is in the trailer, but for awhile you couldn’t find it ANYWHERE…and now here it is.
It sounds kind of like an Elliott Smith song (hat tip to Miss Misery’s Oscar grab) crossed with a Simon and Garfunkle song. It’s just a pleasant guitar pickin’ song with some serious resonance and a killer bridge. I’m also a sucker for earnest harmonizing - which this song has in spades. I’m so happy right now.
Now I gotta find some tabs for this thing.
